What is Raised to Life?

Raised to Life exists “To encourage and equip women to embrace their identity in Christ so that they will experience vibrant God-anointed relationships.”

Arizona native, Heather Ferroni is a Certified Christian Transformational Life Coach and founder of Raised to Life Ministries. After being delivered from a dysfunctional relationship, the Lord grabbed a hold of her heart and placed a great mission on her life: To share the redeeming love of Jesus with women and encourage them to embrace their identity in Christ. Raised to Life was born out of the passion to empower and encourage women to embrace their God-given potential, find freedom in Christ, and live with a vibrant confidence in the truth of who you have been created to be.

Praying with Shameless Audacity

Take it from me, the result of your blessing is directly related to the posture of your heart in prayer. While there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to pray, I believe that the way we approach God in prayer can have a direct result in the outcome of our prayers. Jesus teaches how we should approach Him in prayer- with SHAMELESS AUDACITY, incessantly (1 Thessalonians 5:17), humbly, not bound by pride or fear but just straight up. God has an unlimited supply of everything, He wishes to lavish us, if we ask….Let’s look at Luke 11:8  I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. We can also take a lesson from Joshua in the story of his prayer to make the sun stand still. (Joshua 10:13) For more on this, I encourage you to pick up the book, Sun Stand Still by Steven Furtick. It’s an INCREDIBLE resource that will challenge you to enhance your prayer life and will inspire a deeper faith in God’s miraculous and limitless power!   If Wisdom is What You Seek: James 1:6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. This passage affirms that God generously supplies wisdom when we don’t know what to do, when we’re under trial or temptation, or just tangled in our heads….He doesn’t want us to be double-minded or like... read more

Deliverance is Not the Same as Freedom

I recently posted this on my Instagram. Have you connected with me on there yet?! Let connect! @RaisedtoLifeHeather Hmm….now that’s a point to ponder eh? Put another way, Jesus offers deliverance, but freedom is our choice. What does that mean? Say you’ve been victim to abuse…our gracious God may have delivered you from that (you’re no longer being abused) but the scars and pain, bitterness and anger still has you bound. Therefore, you’re delivered but not yet free. Say you’ve been delivered from a destructive and dysfunctional relationship that was against Gods will- but if you’re holding on to the “should haves, could haves, would haves” or playing the blame-game or unable to move on with a clean heart and fresh perspective, then you’re delivered but not free. Deliverance is by God’s GRACE, FREEDOM is by your CHOICE. How can you find freedom from your deliverance? Approach the throne with GRATITUDE….lay the pain at the foot of the cross and trust that God has a purpose for your pain but that you no longer choose to live with it. Some people choose to use their pain of the past as if it’s as an identification badge. You don’t know who you are without carrying that pain, that failure, that mistake, that thing that happened to you years ago….but God wants to give you a NEW identity, separate from who you were. Clean. New. Fresh. FREE. Declare freedom from your circumstance today! Break the chains that bind you. You’ve been in bondage LONG ENOUGH!!! Put on your NEW identity and walk confidently in alignment with the plans He has created... read more

A Call from My Dad

I was so blessed to have received a call from my dad this morning!  He lives in Jackson, Wyoming and with the craziness of life, we don’t connect all that often. Usually when we do, he’s in transit and I’m normally at work. Our talks are typically a quick 10-minute run down on the current status of life and is normally interrupted by the signal disconnection from him traveling through the Rocky Mountains. Today was no different, but it was a quality talk. I shared with him how I had lost my job 2 weeks ago but that God is faithful and has connected me with a previous co-worker from years ago that has opened a door of opportunity that I’m excited to pursue. I shared with him how I feel like I’m in a really healthy place in life: enrolled in Hillsong Ministry School, connected with an amazing church body at City of Grace, and have a wonderfully tight-knit circle of friends that love, support and encourage me. I spoke of how blessed I feel that although I’m not exactly where I want to be or where I’d thought I’d be at age 29 (single, childless and temporarily staying with family), that I’m thankful that I’m not where I used to be (entangled in a dysfunctional relationship, connected with toxic friends, full of anxiety and depression, etc.) I told him how I’d uncovered the faith journey of lessons learned through my last dysfunctional relationship on this blog and how I’ve been delivered and freed of all that pain, anxiety, insecurity, and hopelessness. I admitted, “I wasn’t the Heather... read more

Need to be NEEDED -vs- Want to be WANTED

I confess, I have a track record of dysfunctional relationships! By no means would I consider myself a relationship expert, but I can say- the lessons I’ve learned through my mistakes and my passion for drawing into the heart of God to learn how HE would have relationships qualifies me to speak on the subject!      The Need to be Needed: I, by nature, am a nurturer, a helper, a cheerleader. I invest myself fully and wholly into ones I care about. Their dreams become my dreams. Their goals become my goals. Although these are great qualities, I realize now that I had a tendency to get entangled in relationships where the other person didn’t have enough drive or ambition {or faith} of their own to propel themselves forward. I poured into them and they clung onto me like an energy vampire and sucked every ounce of generosity I offered. Sadly, it seemed they still didn’t move forward and grow. Unfortunately, no matter how much I tried or how deeply I loved them, I was left empty. BUT….I’M NOT A VICTIM. I had motives of my own I was using them to fulfill. I allowed my self worth to be dictated by people who didn’t have self worth of their own! I allowed myself to be used by people that I felt “needed” me. I was looking for someone to fill my cup; make me feel whole. I was a perfect match for the broken because I needed to feel needed. I don’t ever want to feel that way again. I don’t ever want to feel like I “need” to... read more

Are Dreams From God?

Have you ever wondered if your dreams are from God?  I recently had a friend share a dream with me that she felt was from God. Then naturally she questioned it and wondered if it were her own psyche (soul) and desires (flesh) that conjured up this dream because it happened to be in alignment with her deepest desire. As I draw in closer to God and study His Word and understand His majesty and sovereignty, I am a firm believer that dreams and visions are in fact a powerful communication method between God and us. Sometimes dreams are literal, sometimes they are symbolic and we know this when we study the scriptures.   Every time dreams are mentioned in scripture, they’re always a message from God. Not one time are we given an example of a dream that is NOT from God. So then, why do we question our dreams or feel like they’re completely unrelated to God communicating to us? In my Hillsong Ministry School class the other night, we really dove into hearing the voice of God. Isn’t it amazing to embrace the reality that our spirit is naturally calibrated to hear the voice of God?  Jesus spoke of this in the parable of the sheep and the shepherd and here are some points we can extract from this parable (John 10:1-18): We are the sheep, He is the shepherd. He calls us by name. (He knows us) He is our provider and protector- who laid down His life to give us eternal life. We can trust Him to keep us from harm. He is with... read more

5 Lessons on Wisdom (Proverbs 3:13-18)

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.   Sister, oh, sister…difficult and ignorant people can be such a pebble in your shoe, huh? Those “drama mama’s” that are all caught up in their pride, blind to the effect they have on the human souls they encounter…they stir up struggle and strife, gossip, slander, accusations without justifiable cause, assumption-makers, blamers. Ugh! Girlfriend, I feel the pain of this crazy! I took it to scripture and decided that instead of focusing on the coo-coo, I was going to commit myself to learning about wisdom and bathe myself in a lesson of wisdom. See, we must not forget, we are ambassadors of Christ. That means that we should not focus more on the problem than on the solution (which is ALWAYS Jesus!). I came across Proverbs 3:13-18 and felt the Lord leading me to dissect each piece and extract even more depth of the subject matter. One suggestion I have for enhancing your bible study is to S-L-O-W…D-O-W-N. Take your time to meditate on the message. Swish it around a little. Digest it piece by piece.    WISDOM MUST BE FOUND It takes effort to seek it; discover it. We find wisdom by investigating and asking questions with... read more

I received a ‪Word from the Lord‬ this morning. Do you ever receive a random word from God? Read about another experience I had with the word, “Contrite”.  In the twilight of awakening the ‪Holy Spirit‬ drew this word out in script letter-by-letter. Are you under opposition? Are you in the midst of a great battle? Do you feel under attack? Do you feel like enemies are closing in on you? Take comfort! You are not alone! You are ‪more than a conqueror‬ (Romans 8:37); victorious‬!  I dove into the scriptures in search to find what God has to say about “surround.” I first went to the back of my Life Application Study Bible in the Dictionary/Concordance. (Does your bible have this amazing resource? You should check…it’s AWESOME!) But I didn’t find anything there. So I picked up my phone and used the YouVersion Bible App and did a keyword search and found that a zillion results came up. I pulled out my journal and wrote about 10 of them down that seemed to stick out to me. Then I went back to my bible and searched them out. This is an awesome way to dig in and do an exhaustive bible study. Isn’t it so amazing that God knows us so intimately that He provides the words of wisdom and encouragement we need just at the time we need it? Here are a few things to consider when approaching study in this way: What examples are given in scripture that speak into your situation that you could learn from. Both what TO do and also what NOT to do? What stories of hope... read more

Step Up & Step Out

I woke up the next day after my “Surrender & Deliverance” moment with the Holy Spirit and God placed a great mission on my life. He said, “Okay, now that I’ve delivered you, turn your mess into a message and share your experience with others to help them find deliverance from {dysfunctional} relationships and understand Me better.” Yes, God! I’ve always loved to write so I thought it would be the best way to get the message out. I had blogs in the past but I really just wrote for my own enjoyment and therapy. This time, God made it clear He wanted to use my message on a broader scale #FORHISGLORY. “Raised to Life” just came to me that next morning. I bought the domain and was full of excitement to see what God wanted to do with it. Raised to Life is a mission much greater than me. And it’s amazing because that means my dependency relies solely on Him. Over the course of the past 9.5 months, I just feel the Holy Spirit pouring out such grandiose plans for what this ministry is to become. It combines my passion for writing, sharing Holy Downloads, teaching and encouragement on the Raised to Life YouTube channel, facilitating a private Prayer and Encouragement group for women on Facebook, local bible study groups, promoting women’s conferences such as Propel Women, traveling and speaking, writing books and devotionals, and much more. It’s a forever work in progress and I’m so honored that God wants to use ME to carry out His work! But I didn’t feel this way at the beginning. ... read more

Surrender & Deliverance

November 2, 2014….it’s like my 2nd birthday! We spent about 2 weeks with nearly NO communication. And it was in those two weeks of depression and revelation through “Timeline of Chaos: Egypt or Israel” that I reached the conclusion that it needed to end. I invited him to church that Sunday and he said he already went with his family but that I should come over when I got out to hang out and watch some football. Well while I was in church, he texted me “Don’t be mad, but I have a tee time at 1:30pm.” LOL! This type of negligence and disrespect wasn’t abnormal…it confirmed that he just really didn’t care….I was not a priority. This happened to be November 2, 2014, the 23 wedding anniversary of my parents. We had a family dinner planned and I invited him. He came. It was awkward.  Afterward we gave each other a one-armed hug in the parking lot. To this day (9.5 months later) I haven’t seen him since. I came home and cried my eyes out. Oh, it was an UGLY cry to God. Wrestling, yelling…I was so hurt and angry. My Jacob moment (Genesis 32:22-32) of wrestling with God lasted about 20 minutes. Then, I had a Holy Spirit encounter. It’s really an unexplainable experience but I’ll do my best to verbalize it: A profound sense of peace washed over me. It felt like I was paralyzed. I couldn’t move. I was just laying there on my bed with this warm, tingling sensation over my whole body. I felt like I was literally in the presence of God.... read more

Holy Interventionists

A recap of the story so far: From the Beginning: A Prophetic Dream Dissin’ My Mission The Crazy Cycle Family Feud What Love Isn’t… Writing the Family Code Timeline of Chaos: Egypt or Israel Alright…God had made Himself clear!  My God-anointed gifts and qualities were not cherished, insecurity and desperation along with unresolved family issues, being disregarded, and treated as if I were “too much” and “not enough” at the same time and just realizing that I could not love a person into loving me as Christ loved the church: sacrificially, unconditionally, outrageously…it need to end once and for all. It was time to apply all of the wisdom and knowledge the Holy Spirit had been guiding me to do… It was difficult. I took a few days to let it sink in. I suppose in some ways, I will still searching…God met me right where I was: on Facebook and Instagram! He used the following people to speak life and truth into my life. I call them my “Holy Interventionists” and I highly recommend following them all on social media…they’re saints! And by their obedience to the call God put on their lives by speaking the message of God’s beautiful truth…I got the courage and the validation I was seeking to MOVE ON!
